Example 1: Bamboo decking around a pool of luxury apartments at Meier On Rothschild Tower

This ambitious project, designed by Pritzer Prize-winning American architect Richard Meier, has one special feature: all products installed were tested beforehand to validate the selected materials. Example 2: bamboo decking by the pool at the Vabali Spa

Vabali Spa Berlin Vabali Spa is located in the center of Berlin. The Spa aims to create a haven of peace and relaxation in the heart of the German capital. The architects were inspired by Balinese materials and design. This is one of the reasons they chose bamboo, a material widely used on the island, for the decking. MOSO^® Bamboo X-treme^® Decking met the requirements of the project: it has numerous certifications, high durability (Durability Class 1 following EN 350, Use Class 4 following EN 335) and allows for freedom in design. Following local building regulation and to show the craftworks of the decking, the boards were screwed down. The Vabali Spa Director also states that maintenance was an important selection criteria, with 2,500 m² of decking installed in the Spa, he could not afford to select a poor quality deck which would ultimately require too much maintenance.

Example 3: bamboo terrace around a pool in a private residence

In Mexico, Bamboo X-treme^® Decking has been installed in the garden of a villa in 2015. The installation of the terrace stands out due to its unique shape. The 1850 mm long boards were cut into small sections to create the border of the pool. Thanks to the high stability of the material, these special shapes can be created and will look good in the long term. The installer applied Sikkens WF 771 finish to maintain the brown colour of Bamboo X-treme^® Decking at the private residence Guanajuato-Leon.

Example 4: Bamboo deck in a Safari lodge in Botswana

Luxury Frontiers offers visitors a unique experience: a Safari in luxurious facilities among Botswana's wildlife. The lodges, as well as the pool area, are equipped with Bamboo X-treme^® Decking. The bamboo decking has to cope with intense dry conditions and yet shows good behaviour in terms of stability and durability. One year after the opening of the Belmond Savute Lodge in Botswana, a new Luxury Frontiers project in Zambia has also been equipped with Bamboo X-treme^® Decking.

Example 5: Bamboo decking around the swimming pool of the Ushuaïa Hotel

The Ushuaïa Hotel in Ibiza is famously renowned as the meeting point for the most famous DJ's and tourists who want to have a good time and experience Ushuaïa. During the parties organised by the hotel, there are thousands of people dancing on the decking and partying in the pool. Which is why it was essential to select a durable and reliable material for the deck. More than 3,000 m² of Bamboo X-treme^® Decking has been installed to replace a tropical hardwood deck. Bamboo X-treme^® was selected for its durability, natural and warm appearance and its hardness.
