Bamboo decking boards around the swimming pool of the luxurious Tower apartments of Meier on Rotschild
The renowned architect Richard Meier, winner of the Pritzker Prize, designed the Tower Apartments of Meier on Rotschild. The architect wanted this residential building to be sustainable, which is why the materials were carefully selected to meet Richard Meier's requirements. Private residence Solana Beach with a bamboo decking boards on the edge of a cliff
Designing a terrace can sometimes be a challenge. This private residence in Solana Beach, California is located on the edge of a cliff with a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean. The conditions for installing the deck presented many challenges: very limited ventilation space, the material had to be able to face extreme humidity levels and deal with salty air. At first, the installer thought of using an Ipe deck, an exotic wood. However, due to the project requirements, only MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® Decking boards were suitable.
A weathered deck still looking elegant
In 2014, the MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® Decking board was installed at the headquarters of the shipping company Jumbo Maritime. MVSA Architects and the owner Jumbo Maritime selected bamboo boards for the 2500 m² decks at the office balcony and the surrounding garden. On the company's rooftop, the Bamboo X-treme® Decking and the railing is reminiscent of standing on a ship’s deck, overlooking the harbours. 5 years after the installation of the deck, MOSO® experts came back to take new photos: the bamboo boards have an elegant grey look and are still as beautiful as the day of installation.
Small but stylish deck in Barcelona
The MOSO Europe office is located in the heart of Barcelona. Used as a showroom, it has an outdoor area where the MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® Decking board is installed. The design of the terrace was made to show the versatility that bamboo boards can offer. Boards of different widths are installed, but also the two types of surface are combined: flat and grooved. The boards are installed like a checkerboard. Planters and benches are also made with the same bamboo boards. Penthouses by the sea with decking boards and cladding boards in bamboo
The Briga Towers are located in the middle of two nature reserves in Israel. In order to create the terraces of these luxurious penthouses, the architects chose to use a high quality and durable material. MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® Decking, located only 300 meters from the seafront, covers the terraces and walls of the various outdoor areas of the Briga Towers. The ecological aspect of the material was also part of the selection criteria for the bamboo decking. The design of the deck, in combination with the wall, creates the feeling of a room with a natural ambience.
A green rooftop terrace in the heart of Barcelona
Located in the Eixample district, in the center of Barcelona and next to one of Gaudi's emblematic works, the "Sagrada Familia", Hotel 1882 Barcelona offers an experience, combining luxury and relaxation. On the roof of the hotel, guests can enjoy a green and natural terrace. When designing the terrace, the Catalan architecture agency, Lázaro Rosa-Violán, decided to use natural materials with warm tones. The furniture and decorative elements are made of wood. Bamboo decking board around a swimming pool and a lake
The 5* Wellness Residenz Hotel in Alpenrose, Austria is located on Achensee lake in Maurach, Tirol. It offers its guests a natural and relaxing environment to ensure a wellness experience. The bamboo boards are installed directly above the lake water and around the swimming pool, so they must be highly resistant to moisture, while also have a long durability. The MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® Decking board achieves the highest biological durability Class 1 according to EN 350. Bamboo X-treme® Decking proved to be the best choice for this hotel.
A rooftop deck with the feeling of infinite length and ecological fit
Hans van Heeswijk architecten designed the renovation of an apartment building in the city center of Amsterdam, which included a complete makeover of the roof. A large outdoor area with terraces and garden was planned, including an optically infinite deck. The rooftop has vegetation equipped with an ingenious and ecological irrigation system that retains rainwater, allowing it to be used at a later date. Together with the installers at De Dakdokters, the architects selected the Bamboo X-treme® decking board for the rooftop terraces, which is also applied in the terrace furniture elements. The inhabitants of this building enjoy a natural setting with a terrace that appears infinite, thanks to the installation of the bamboo boards with a tongue and groove match system at the ends of the board, reinforcing this feeling of continuity.
A luxurious bamboo decking with a chevron pattern
Outdoor decking can be a continuation of the indoor flooring and often the interior design is extended to the terrace. In this Moroccan villa, the owners wanted to continue the chevron pattern installation of the interior floor in the bamboo decking outdoors. These benefits were enough to convince the owner of the private residence in Candlewood Lake, Ohio, USA. The owner was looking for a natural material that would provide a durable installation on a lakefront. In addition, he wanted to keep a tree in the middle of the terrace, so he had to find a material that would allow him flexibility in installation. After researching on the internet, he chose the Bamboo X-treme® Decking board, which allowed him to create a decking with different patterns.

The combination of different board widths offers more freedom in the design of the terrace. The owner of this beautiful villa in Cape Town, South Africa, took full advantage of this. He decided to install a combination of boards in widths of 137, 155 and 178 mm. This combination creates a unique and inspiring result. In addition to the different board widths, it is also possible to play with the different surfaces of the Bamboo X-treme® Decking boards, choosing between the smooth or grooved side, or a combination of both.
